2023-2026

Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers

Vice President & Program Manager

I’ve been an active member of Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) at LSU since 2023, a professional organization that connects Industrial Engineering students with industry leaders, guest speakers, and career development opportunities. IISE bridges academic learning with real world application through plant tours, workshops, and leadership roles; This afforded me the chance to attend manufacturing tours, hear from practicing engineers, and engage with industry partners, experiences that made the “real-world” engineering environment tangible and gave meaning to my studies.

As an officer, I now have the opportunity to plan all the events and development IISE provides for young Industrial Engineering students, first as Program Director, and now as Vice President. As Vice President, I am helping prepare for the 2026 Southeastern Regional Conference LSU will be hosting for universities across the United States.

Positions aside, the best part of IISE is the mentorship it offers young engineering students. Many are coming from different majors and have had difficulty with the engineering curriculum. IISE helps these students by providing resume reviews, mock interviews, and helping students secure the elusive engineering summer internship.

The comradery between IE students is notable, and the major is one of the most tight knit in the College of Engineering, thanks to the multitude of required groupwork by the engineering curriculum, and programs like IISE.
