2021 - 2026

B.S. in Industrial Engineering

I thoroughly believe Industrial Engineering is the best undergraduate degree program. I have learned so much about leadership, groupwork, connecting with people with different backgrounds, and innovation from a major that is supposed to be about numbers and physics (there was plenty of that too). In my daily life, I find myself project managing my goals like an engineer, reducing motion when organizing my room, and even creating miniature time studies to find the fastest route around campus.

Below I have selected some of my favorite and exhaustive coursework I have completed in my time at LSU. You will notice, most of it is groupwork. This came with its own set of challenges. Coordinating meetings, ensuring work is properly done, and communication styles are a handful of the many problems that can arise. Struggling through these challenges helped me in ROTC, when I was managing a team of five individuals, or even in IISE, when mentoring younger IE students.

  • Chose manufacturing location in Baton Rouge, a 24,179 sq ft. facility

  • Designed layout, machines, and processing for product in custom manufacturing layout

  • Sourced suppliers for raw materials and developed inventory strategies to ensure proper timing, amount, and quality of material for plant

  • Ran financial analysis on business decisions to find Return on Investment, Break Even point, and variable and fixed costs

2024

IE 4530 - Lean Manufacturing

  • Group project with Ashlee Robinson, Ava Collins, Bella Maitland, and Emily Kennedy

  • Responsible for developing a digital simulation model of a process in Baton Rouge

  • Chose Fred’s Bar and Grill, due to extremely long queuing lines of students on weekends

  • Created model using Simio, as pictured to the right

  • Ran statistical analysis on all data inputted into simulation model, ensuring it was appropriate

  • Developed dynamic pricing model logic to increase price at door based on how many patrons were in bar

  • Created two line system to reduce variability in bouncer process

  • Introduced “PrePay” a system where patrons can by pass the queue by submitting their information earlier in the day and pay online

2023

IE 2400: Methods and Systems Engineering

  • Group project with Caitlin McMahon, Carson Butler, and Eric Selser

  • Created toy assembly line

  • Completed time studies to understand “average” time to complete for unskilled worker

  • Rearranged order assembly to reduce time to complete

  • Designed ergonomic workstations with prescribed motion to reduce waste in process

  • Created process chart, detailing steps and quality checks to ensure part is not malfunctioning

  • Won first in class for fastest time to complete base assembly
