Working two internships in the private and public sector was quite a contrasting experience. Both required different approaches, levels of urgency, and communication styles to be effective in the workplace. Some of my highlights from each of my roles are listed below!
2025
TRU Simulation, Textron Aviation - Tampa, FL
Project Management Intern
Developed a custom Sales, Inventory, Operations, Product forecasting tool that analyzed $53M in contracts to align engineering work capacity with prospective project demand, reduced time to forecast by 90%
Built forecasting models using Python, leveraging historical project data to predict workload needs across 13 engineering resource codes.
Supported the shipment of the U.S. Army’s new MV-75 tiltrotor, coordinating with three companies to meet delivery requirements.
Created a value stream map of business project lifecycle to identify inefficiencies and improve process visibility
2024
Air Force Civilian Service - Robins AFB, GA
Process Engineer Intern
Designed and procured Kanban “Work in Progress Board” for Continuous Process Improvement teams, leading to reductions in duplicative work between team members, increased project visibility to supervisors, and facilitated department-wide adoption, across multiple engineering teams
Revamped and developed analytic data for departmental hiring processes, generating detailed reports reviewed weekly by Director of Operations, describing work in progress, queue, flow days, and targets of hiring packages, transitioning to a semi-automated data entry platform with a 77% increase in data accuracy
Initiated Critical Chain mapping project for the Lockheed C-5 Galaxy’s 532 maintenance tasks. Defined task dependencies, resulting in identification of resource and manpower conflicts, critical tasks, and parts prioritization
Facilitated Lean and Six Sigma improvements in departmental hiring process, reducing flow time by 33% and triggering enterprise-wide initiatives in process improvement for personnel management
